There's a very fine line between a sexy transvestite and crossdresser who has overdone make up and looks more like a stage drag queen!
The best tip on make is to follow the rules women generally use when they apply makeup but there are considerations that a tranny has to bear in mind to complete the transformation from a bloke to sexy gal.
One of the important things to remember is that less is more when it comes to applying make up, you really don't want to end up looking like a drag queen or even the ugly sister from Cinderella! for more advice Transvestites Forum

There is no point in having good clothes and hair if your face immediately lets you down. Follow these basic steps to prepare your skin & face:
- Cleanse, tone & moisturise - every day you can now get male grooming products to do this which are specifically designed for male skin so make use of them!
- Exfoliate - at least one a week you should exfoliate your whole body using a body scrub wash and either an exfoliation glove or sponge, which will soften your skin.
- Shave - you need to have really close shaves otherwise your five o'clock shadow will be a dead give away!
- Facial Hair - you need to consider eyebrows, nose & ears! A bushy mono brow is not good so get plucking or waxing for a feminine look and ensure nose & ear hair is kept trimmed.
Once you have your skin in good condition you are ready to start using makeup to create your feminine alter-ego - again here are some basic tips on make-up:
- Concealer - this is generally in stick form and you need to choose a colour slightly lighter than you own skin shade and apply it thinly to cover specific areas such as spots & blemishes
- Foundation - you need to be careful when deciding upon the shade (many women struggle with this!) it shouldn't be orangey and should blend with your own colouring, best try to match it to the colour of skin along the chin line. Apply it with a cosmetic sponge a small amount at a time and blend it in so that it doesn't look like it is plastered on!
- Loose powder - a translucent powder is lightly dusted over the face to make the skin matt and helps to 'set' the foundation giving a flawless finish to the skin.
- Eye liner - this can be very tricky to apply, best to go for a pencil type as this is less messy. The idea is to draw a thin line along the line of the lashes although it is not essential and best practiced!
- Eye shadow - this is applied by brush to the eye lids to enhance your own eye colour but again to achieve a nice look practice, choose muted colours for a natural look. A big stripe of blue is not good!
- Mascara - applied by the wand brush that come with the tube it is brushed onto the top & bottom lashes to create a longer darker lash - false eye lashes can also be applied for a more daring look!
- Blusher - this is used to create more definition to the face shape and should be swept along the cheek bone and also gives a nice rosy glow. It can also be used to create shading in other areas to help hide larger features.
- Lipstick - It is best to start off by applying it following the natural line of your lips, not all women have the perfect cupids bow anyway, and then with practice you can start to use a lip liner as well to create more definition. Best to avoid bright reds and go for pinks or browner reds for a more natural look until you have perfected your overall styling!
The face however isn't the only thing you need to think about, hands can often be the biggest giveaway and although you can't do anything about the size of them you can make them more feminine by ensuring you treat them well with moisturiser for softness but also to have a manicure so you get nice shaped nails whether or not you then paint them. Alternatively if your own nails are a mess invest in some decent quality false nails which can be acrylic or enamel depending on how long you want them on for!
You aren't expected to master this over night, after all most women have been practicing since being young girls and a lot of them could do with some lessons! However if you are serious about being a convincing transvestite rather than just a male crossdresser this is something that you do need to play around with, finding the best colours for your skin tone and remember that different hair colour can also change the way things look. So have fun perfecting your feminine look and take advantage of the fact that even men have facials and manicures now days!!
